Day 1. Home—Albany (L/D)
We travel to Lake Muir view the boardwalk, lunch at Mount Baker Old Police Station , The original Old Police Station built was by convict labour in 1868 then view Bluff Knoll lookout in the Stirling Range National Park, it is the highest peak of the Stirling Range in the Great Southern region of Western Australia (WA). It is 1,099 metres (3,606 ft) above sea level, a stop at Handasyde strawberries on the way into Albany. Overnight: at Dog Rock Motel
Day 2 Albany (B/L/D) We travel via York Street to view the Albany Port before making our way to Emu Point to hop on board the Kalgan Queen for a tour of Oyster Harbour on the way to the Kalgan River and perhaps meet Percy the dancing Pelican. Lunch at Emu Point then visit Strawberry Hill farm, said to be the oldest residence in WA. Next stop is to view Darrel Radcliffe, a chainsaw artist who has carved sculptures for local gardens & parks. Overnight: Dog Rock Motel
Day 3 Albany (B/L/D) Take in the breathtaking views from Mount Clarence and visit The National Anzac Centre, Australia’s foremost museum honouring the Anzac legend. Step inside the oldest gaol and relive the journey to Australia on board the Brig Amity before heading to Whalers Gallery Café for lunch and a tour of the Whale Station at Whale World. “Thar She Blows” was the cry of the whalers as they set off aboard the Cheynes 1V. Step back in time with a guided tour through the station which ceased operations in November, 1978. After our visit to Whale World make sure you have your cameras ready as we head off to enjoy the lovely views of the Natural Bridge and the Gap before viewing to the Albany Wind Farm. Day 4 Albany—Home Our last day and we head for home but not before we all enjoy a visit to Mt Romance sandalwood shop Australia’s largest retailer of sandalwood inspired beauty, health and lifestyle products. Our last morning tea will be at Jassi leather. On to Denmark Good Food Factory (toffee factory) Before onwards to Dinosour World where we will enjoy lunch. The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, an internationally recognised nature based tourism attraction, giving you a bird’s eye view of some of the biggest timber giants on Earth – Western Australia’s majestic Tingle Trees. Climbing 40 metres into the forest canopy and meandering through the treetops for 600 metres, the walk trail is the first of its kind, designed to maximise views and minimise impact on the environment. A touch of Walpole before heading to scenic Fernbrook falls with afternoon tea, then heading towards Manjimup for the trip back to your drop off point.
